SARAH HARRIS - Founder & Publisher
A native of Riverside, California, Sarah R. Harris is President & Chief Executive Officer of SAVE THE DATE Media Group, LLC, which publishes SAVE THE DATE magazine and SAVETHEDATECentral.com. Since its inception, Harris has nurtured and shaped the direction of the company garnering much support throughout the communities of Southern California.

After graduating from Riverside Polytechnic High School in 1985, Harris attended Scripps College in Claremont, California pursuing an education in Humanities and Fine Arts. Eventually, Harris discovered her love for computers and graphic designing. Soon she began designing collateral material and coordinating specials events for the NAACP Western Region, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Orange County and the Urban Issues Breakfast Forum of Los Angeles.

As an event planner and self-taught graphic designer, Harris prayed for direction in her life. The combination of the event planning and graphic designing services gave birth to Harris' publication called SAVE THE DATE.

In the summer of 1998, Harris began working on the first draft of the quarterly newsletter, which was released in December 1999. The inspiration for SAVE THE DATE came from her working closely with her sister, Wendy Gladney Brooks, who is president of Personal Services Plus, an event planning firm. Through her work with Wendy, she development a higher awareness for community issues and local leadership and sought to help promote the good works of individuals and institutions that work tirelessly to make a difference. Since that time Harris faithfully produces issue after issue while continuously increasing its content and circulation.

For over five years, Harris has enjoys developing and publishing SAVE THE DATE into the Master Urban Events Calendar Magazine. Harris uses the magazine as a vehicle to give her testimony of how great God has been in her life as well as to help to promote the good works of responsible citizens. With all the support and great ideas in the works, Harris is encouraged by the future of the publication and company as a whole. In recognition of her dedication, Harris was honored with the Christian Business Network International's "Angel" Award in October 2002. Harris was also honored for her achievements as one of the 7 awardees at the Black Business Association/Speakers Etc. "A Salute to Black Women" event in honor of Women's History Month 2003.

Harris resides in Los Angeles, California with her very handsome and bright son, Xavier. Both are active members of First New Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Dr. Norman S. Johnson, Sr. In her spare time, she enjoys biographies & documentaries, movies, spending time with her son, and talking about the great favor that God has bestowed upon her life. BERNARD CLARK - Editor
Bernard Clark brings a wealth of experience to the position of Editor-in-Chief. In addition to being a journalist, author, screenplay writer, and producer, he is the president and co-founder of Brosis Media, a progressive entertainment production company that creates projects solely for artistic and cultural value. Brosis Media is currently in pre-production for the upcoming mini-series, Contempt, which chronicles and considers the crisis in public education. A second project, a romantic comedy entitled For Life, is also in development, along with a full slate of other film and television properties.

In the fall of 2004, Bernard will release his first book, This Day Forward: A Celebration of African American Marriage Proposals. His second book, Soul Searching: Love, Hope, and Faith in America is due in the summer of '05.

Prior to coming to SAVE THE DATE, Bernard earned his stripes by working for such entities as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, HBO, Warner Brothers, The Walt Disney Company, National Public Radio, Don Buchwald and Associates, the National Association of Television Program Executives, and the LA Bridges Program. Immediately prior to coming to Save the Date, Bernard was the Program Director for Tavis Smiley Presents where he was responsible for producing the annual State of the Black Union symposium and the historic Blacks in Technology series. As Program Director, Bernard was instrumental in every facet of the company, including publicity, marketing, branding, website development, program evaluation, sponsor relations, business development, and more.

In addition to his other pursuits, Bernard is also in the process of developing a unique non-profit organization that will raise money for public schools, urban arts programs, and various humanitarian enterprises around the world. Bernard is native of Pasadena and attended Polytechnic School, UCLA, and the University of California at Berkeley. (READ EDITOR'S NOTES)>>

ANTHONY FISHER - Graphic Designer
Anthony Fisher owns and creatively directs Fisher Design Group (also known as FDG), a highly successful creative firm with professional experience assisting numerous companies with their Internet, Print and Video communication needs. Mr. Fisher holds a Bachelors degree in Graphic Design and a Masters degree in Educational Technology. With this combination of education, technology and creative sophistication, he is truly an asset to the company.

LELA THOMPSON - Director, Public Relations
Lela C. Thompson has over a decade of professional experience in marketing, promotions, event planning and project management in the entertainment industry. She has held marketing positions at KCET and Twentieth Century Fox Studios. Her corporate experience that focused on publicity, project management and coordinating various events led her to starting her own company called, It's All About You PR. In 2002 she began as a public relations and marketing consultant for SAVE THE DATE magazine.

Lela is a member of Entertainment Publicist Professional Society, Women In Film and Professional Women In Business. She resides in Culver City, CA with her two sons.

MALCOLM ALI - Photographer
Malcolm Ali owns and operates Finaimage.com, a full service digital photography site providing detailed coverage of current events. Mr. Ali's has extensive experience covering major news, entertainment, sports, fashion, and special events for more than twenty years. He also works and has relationships with other acclaimed photographers and industry veterans to ensure us getting the photos that we need.

Ali has been providing photographic services for SAVE THE DATE since 2001.

BEVERLY ANTEL - Sales Rep & Writer
Beverly Antel is a veteran Los Angeles-based writer who has held public relations positions at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, and the Young Black Scholars program. She is also an experienced freelance journalist whose clients have included the Los Angeles Times, Southern California Edison, and Young Communications Group. Beverly started her professional career as managing editor of Los Angeles’ Herald-Dispatch newspaper group and over the years, has established a solid reputation in journalism, public relations and community relations. She has received international recognition for a series of newspaper articles she wrote for the California Department of Health Services.

Beverly is single and resides in Torrance, CA.
