When nearly 1,000 children and families showed up for fun and games at its one-of-a-kind “Inclusion” event last year, Special Needs Network, Inc. (SNN) knew it was time to move. Expecting to accommodate 1,500 children and families.
Offering free food, entertainment, pony rides, clowns, jumpers, magicians, games, vendors, and a 50-booth resource fair, as well as free backpacks and school supplies for at least 700 children. Held annually to unite special needs families with families of typically developing children, SNN’s inclusion event also will feature African drummers, hip hop dancers, and a local high school drill team. KJLH Radio personality, Adai Lamar, will serve as mistress of ceremonies, with a special welcome from Sen. Curren Price (D., 26th Dist.). In addition, a health fair will offer free mental health, vision, and sensory integration screening for children; diabetes and body mass index screenings for adults; as well as information on therapies, schools, special programs and a variety of other educational resources.
